Can you try physically unplugging and reinserting your mouse? Perhaps this will clear whatever issue is affecting the game.
If you're on a laptop, can you check if the same issue occurs with the trackpad?
If you try creating a new world, does the issue occur there too?
No, that didn't solve the issue. Still no interactions when clicking on anything.
Not on a laptop.
Yes, it appears on all worlds, not just one.

Thanks. I doubt it's a factor, but can you go into the options and highlight every option except audio, graphics and Music, and revert to default? There's nothing explicit about mice, but perhaps resetting the config files on this page will revert a hidden value.
Also can you disable Origin in-game and see if this affects anything?
Also can I check if you've always had the problem, or did it pop up after some time playing?
When you click on objects or sims, does the "click" sound occur? Just be sure the game acknowledges the input.
Also, could you try deleting the folders "cache", "cachestr" and "lotcacheddata" under the directory "C:\Users\[user name]\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" after making a backup of them in another location (i.e. Desktop). This is just to rule out if it is corrupted cache files.
And as David above mentioned, did this occur on the first time playing, after a while? Or after loading the game up after the first time?
