Because not everyone is affected, so it's not a problem intrinsic to Sims 4. It's something about the interaction between the game and the system.
If you'd like help, please try my suggestion and let me know whether it makes a difference. If not please run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply, that is if you're playing on a Windows PC.
