Re: can't start either saved game or new game after updating

there is no error message on sims4. I even try to load the game by moving mods folder out. but it does not work. it means game keeps loading and go back to map later. so, as you recommended, I tried to move the entire sims4 folder out from documents, and started the game. Now, it started completely a new game. Is this crashing from the mods, but the game was working before updated properly.

@RJenny29  If the game works in a new folder, then the problem is something in your old folder.  What you can do now is move your files from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one, a little at a time, testing to see whether the problem shows up again.

If you want to use mods or custom content, test that first.  Here's a list of mods known to be broken, which you'll need to remove or replace:

Once you've sorted through your mods and cc, you can move over the contents of saves, Tray (saved households and builds), Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those, plus UserSetting.ini for the login rewards.  The rest can be discarded; the game will create new copies of these files as necessary.
