It is probable you are inadvertantly using the IGP rather than the nvidia/AMD GPU.

Try the following to be sure your discrete GPU is being used rather than the on-board IGP.

  1. Open the nvidia control panel
  2. Manage 3D settings, Program settings tab
  3. Click add to choose the program to customize
  4. Click browse and choose: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4.exe
  5. Set your graphics preferences and click apply.

    Barry, just three words; i love you. Tried to play, and it works perfectly, so the stripes are gone. Thank you so much 🙂

    im having the same issue but i cant find the nvidia control panel you are talking about. what do i do ??

    You should be able to access the Nvidia Control Panel by right clicking on your desktop.

    There is no NVidia option, but im building a desktop with a nice NVidia graphics card that will be my main system. It might work then! Thanks for the help anyway!

    I tried downloading NVIDIA and it wont allow me to :/ is there anything i can do instead of this?
