Re: Could this get any worse?

@katinkamom  What happens when you try to login to the Gallery?

For Windows Defender, is Controlled Folder Access enabled, and does it help to disable it?  I'm not saying don't use CFA in general, only that this would be a useful test.

    Here's what I tried.

    1. I had deleted the whole Sims4 folder so there was a scary moment when it didn't show up but anyway, clicking on the gallery icon just shows my gallery, not the Sims4 gallery. I've tried putting in the latest version of MC Commander and it doesn't show up on the sim. About all that's working is my cc hair, makeup and outfits. Kind of depressing since I'm not a good builder so I tried it again this morning, since I had writer's block anyway (trying to finish a sci-fi novel after my editor loved except for the love interest and 'too many characters'. Anyway, I downloaded it again, did not touch the Sims 4 folders and it didn't help, either. I'm getting another antivirus but never had an issue before so....

@katinkamom  Are you sure you're working with the correct Sims 4 folder?  The fact that you deleted the entire folder but still saw your Library content, if that's the sequence of events (i.e. you didn't restore the folder before viewing your Library), then you didn't remove the folder that the game is actually reading.  Here's how to find its location:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

The paths must match exactly up to "The Sims 4."  If one of them is a bit different, for example one has OneDrive in its path and the other does not, that's the issue, or at least one of them.  It would explain why MCCC isn't showing and why the Library content was still present.

I got a new antivirus last night, and yes,, it's the only file I can use but I see your point. I have deleted the game and downloaded it again since then twice so, at this point, I quickly opened it and nope, still no gallery other than my own.

@katinkamom  Please test in a new admin Windows account.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.  That's fine for now and can be addressed later if necessary.

Test first with your antivirus active, and download MCCC or some other up-to-date mod to test with.  If neither the Gallery nor your mod works, test again but with your antivirus completely disabled.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe, and you can reenable the antivirus as soon as you've loaded the game to have a look.

By the way, please make sure that your previous antivirus has been removed completely.  Having two of them running at the same time is just asking for trouble.

I noticed when I removed the XMLInjector script I had no problems. However, my mods are suffering but the major ones work, at least. Still, EA should know better to beta test their fixes before unleashing them on customers who have put a lot of time and money into this game, and now have to set the siims up again.and figure out why some of the townies are missing clothes and hair. Not that I care but all I wanted was to playl with vampires and not townies.

@katinkamom  What problems currently exist in your game with no mods or custom content present?  I understand you don't want to play like that in general, but it's a critical test—troubleshooting other aspects of the game isn't going to fix a mod-related issue, and vice versa.

The XML Injector is probably not the issue here.  When you remove it, mods that depend on it stop working too, meaning if they're broken or outdated, they're not affecting your game anymore.  Some mods do not depend on the XML Injector and would still work (or not) as usual.
