Re: [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 4 DLC shows as installed, won't load in-game
@kejsarinnan This is a bit of a mess, and having program files in your user folder is asking for trouble for multiple reasons. So I think the easiest approach here is to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Sims 4. Before doing anything else, create a folder on your desktop called "backup" or whatever you want, except do NOT put "Sims 4" in the folder name. Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and move the saves, Tray, and Mods folders to the backup folder on your desktop. You can also move Screenshots or Recorded Videos if you like, but the rest is extraneous: the game will recreate the files as needed.
Next, uninstall Sims 4:
- Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
- Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
- Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
- Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
- Close Revo, and restart your computer.
Next, check Revo for anything related to the Sims 4 CAS Demo, just to be thorough. Delete anything Revo finds. Finally, ninstall the EA App with Revo as well. I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward. Restart again when you're done.
Install the EA App, then install Sims 4 into whatever folder you want to use that is NOT inside Documents or Downloads. C:\Program Files\EA Games is fine. Launch the game and see whether your packs show up.
If everything is working, you can move the contents of the folders you set aside to the new subfolders within Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. It's best to use the new folders the game has generated and move the files themselves rather than the folders they're in, for example the individual save files rather than the entire saves folder. You should then be able to pick up where you left off.
