I can play the game with no crashing at all. But only without DLCs. At least that works for me.
1) I completely uninstalled the Sims 4 and the Origin client.
2) Restarted the computer
3) Renamed "My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4" to "My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 - Backup"
4) Completely deleted the remaining Origin folder (for example "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin")
5) Completely deleted the remaining Sims 4 folder (for example "C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 4" or "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4").
6) Installed Origin as Administrator
7) Installed the Sims 4 - IMPORTANT: Only Base Game, NO DLCs
8) Installed ALL my mods from "My Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 - Backup", including scripted once (of courses only scripted mods which have been updated for 1.68.154)After that I was able to play the game for 5 hours WITHOUT ANY CRASH. And with sound ;-)
So the problem for me is definitely in one of the official Sims 4 DLCs. With all my DLCs installed, I was not able to play for more than 5 Minutes without crashing. My DLCs are:
Expansion packs
The Sims 4: Get to Work
The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs
The Sims 4: Seasons
Game packs
The Sims 4: Vampires
The Sims 4: Realm of MagicSo it might by a good thing for EA to search the crashing in one of the DLCs.
I did not have time to install my DLCs one after the other, to find out which one is actually causing the crashing. Maybe I will do that tonight, I'm at work now, it's 11:34 over here.- crinrict5 years agoHero+
I've noticed a lot of post in here that have nothing to do with crashing. Please repost your issue in either of the threads linked below or make a new thread if your issue was infact not crashing
There can be two reasons your post ended up in here:
- You posted in here, unaware that your issue is different
- You posted in a thread that was mostly about crashing and that got merged with this.
Please only post in here if you have actual crashing issues AND have tested without mods/cc installed
What does that mean ? It means that you can open your game but then after any amount of time, it just closes down without any error messages.
Few examples of things that do NOT belong in this thread
- You are booted back to the map and get an error code. More information about that can be found here: [FAQ] Map Reloading/ Error Codes
- You have issues with something not working as expected in the game (aka a bug): Please post in the Bug forum (check if your issue was reported before). Create ONE thread per Issue you encounter
- You are NOT on a Windows PC. Please use the threads listed in the first post for your platform
- Your game doesn't start at all. You can't open it. There are several thread around for that but this is the main one: Sims 4 refusing to open up after the November patch 2020
- You get a VCRuntime Or MSVCP140.DLL Error. Please try suggestions here: [CURRENT ISSUE] Execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.DLL was not found
- You get an Error Code 0xc000007b. Please post here: Error Code 0xc000007b Preventing Game Startup
- You get an Error Message: Ordinal Not Found. Please try suggestions here: TS4.exe - Ordinal Not Found
- If you loose sound (without having disabled it), please post here: [CURRENT ISSUE] Muted Sounds
Issues that are probably related and are fine in here
- Immensen Lag and Memory Leaks
- Audio starts to crackle

@TheSimsSerbia Please read my description carefully before posting. I did uninstall the game:
-> 1) I completely uninstalled the Sims 4 and the Origin client. After that I deleted the folders.
And what about "this can couse more problems then it was"???? My game works fine now 😃

Asking this out of curiosity, what happens when you guys put Origin into the offline mode? Are you still having crashes in that case?
Because a friend of mine told me that his issue was solved once he started to play in offline mode.

my game opens but won't make it through the loading screen, meaning it crashes before the main menu, i'm just asking to be sure because other people saying their game crashed halfway through the gameplay, is it the same thing do i need to report there too?
Product SIMS 4
Platform Windows PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Most Current
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? everything, i own all of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? The crash always occurs for me with in minutes of opening the cheat menu. I play vanilla, no mods and no cc. I only use the cheats: bb.moveobjects others. Every time i use a cheat; minus Kaching, the game freezes and crashes with no error code.
What happens when the bug occurs? The game freezes. Then windows notifies me of the crash and closes it.
What do you expect to see? I expect it to be able to work with the cheats given to us.Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not no
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? After this update, i have had very few crashes ever before this, but now i cant play more than 2 minutes after using a cheat code. Most recent crash file attached, was trying bb.moveobjects on one of the new pre-made lots that i had moved my sim into.
