@GalaxyRain49 If you get repeated crashes, please use this thread:
And definitely save more often. But a single crash after five hours of play time isn't necessarily a cause for concern; the issue is when it becomes a pattern.
- GalaxyRain495 years agoRising Rookie@puzzlezaddict thank you I went and ate then came back and started all over, I will have to remember to save often
- Simsational_CJ5 years agoSeasoned Novice@puzzlezaddict My game is also crashing. It is becoming a pattern. I did see though that the Sims team is addressing the issue due to many reports of crashing. I have no mods or CC in my game right now. I just thought I'd let it be known that this is becoming an issue. I've never had The Sims 4 crash on me so, 4 times in a couple of hours is A LOT for me. I'm just going to wait on a fix and save my game a lot. I have noticed that when it decides to crash my sound goes a little wonky. Then it crashes.
@Simsational_CJ The crashing, or most of it, does seem to be related to in-game sound. Please see the crashing thread I linked earlier for a (potential) temporary fix, and you can keep an eye on that thread for updates.
- Simsational_CJ5 years agoSeasoned Novice@puzzlezaddict I did go into that and I found a fix. It said to right click on the Sims 4 in origin in your game library and click game properties, then I believe advanced something or other. Then to type in "-noaudio". I did that and my game hasn't crashed since then. I'm still trying to find a fix for my daughter however. She updated the game but now it won't open. LOL. Go figure. And now I'm worried bc I do want my audio back and I'm not sure how I'm going to go about that being I put that into the game properties. It's okay though, I'll get it all figured out. Thank you so much for being here and replying.
@Simsational_CJ When you enter a command line argument in the Advanced section of Game Properties, it should stay there until you remove it. So you should be able to simply delete the -noaudio command and save the change, then have your audio back. Hopefully EA will release a proper fix soon enough, and you'll be able to go back to playing normally.
For your daughter's issue, you can try the usual recommendations, which I listed for someone else here:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-4-won-t-launch/m-p/9734633#M195227
If none of those help, it would be best for you to start a new thread specifically about your daughter's issue. And please attach a dxdiag to the initial post as well.
- Simsational_CJ5 years agoSeasoned Novice@puzzlezaddict Okay, thank you so much!!
- @Simsational_CJ Once you get the game to open, try to set the audio quality to low or maybe run the game in windows 8 compatible mode, might do the trick.
