Re: Game crashes in build mode

@puzzlezaddict Okay, I finished the win update and started the intel driver as administrator.
I then received an error message saying: "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer. Setup will exit."

How should I proceed?

@ITILASims  That's strange: the driver download page specifically lists your processor as supported.  But what you can do is install the Intel Driver & Support Assistant and let it find a suitable graphics driver:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

You can uninstall it again afterwards, if you want.

If this doesn't work either, you can just move on to the Nvidia driver instead.  That's the one that matters.  The two drivers do need to work together to some degree on a dual-card laptop like yours, but less than optimal compatibility might end up not having a major effect on Sims 4.

@puzzlezaddict So for some reason the Support Assistant couldn't find any suitable drivers either. So I resumed with the Nvidia driver, did the restart and I got a notication from the Intel Support Assistant saying there was a new driver to install. ?!😕
Anyway, then this new current driver installed without any problems and after a restart and Sims patch update I was able to play the game! So far without a hitch.

So thank you so very much for the detailed, easy to follow instructions and subsequent troubleshooting! Would never have figured this out on my own, so greatly appreciated your help! 🙂

@ITILASims  That's intriguing.  It does sound like the Intel driver wouldn't install until a compatible Nvidia driver was present; as I mentioned before, they do work together to some degree.  I'll definitely keep that in mind for other dual-card laptops, so thanks for the extra info.

And of course it's great to hear that your game is now working.
