Re: Game crashes when loading a household or place house in lot from new save

@SEA7772  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know how it runs.

If the new save works fine, you can copy over one of your existing saves, but nothing else yet, and test it too.  Since you're copying rather than moving the file, you don't need to worry about the missing mods and cc—the original save will be intact in the old folder while you experiment on the duplicate.

If the new save crashes too, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thanks for replying, I tried your suggestion. it was working fine when I was in CAS but when I went straight to gameplay the game crashed at the loading screen. when I chose a lot to play in,the loading screen lasted for at least 5 minutes until it crashed. Here is the information you need.

@SEA7772  Just to clarify, did the new save crash, or was the new save fine but the old one crashed once you copied it to the new folder?  If the latter, how large is the save file itself?  You can see the file size if you view the saves folder in detail mode.

Your dxdiag shows a number of somewhat generic Windows errors, so please run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Please also increase your computer's page file size.  When a computer runs out of RAM, it can temporarily store data in the page file, swapping it out when an application needs to use that data right away.  Because your laptop only has 4 GB RAM installed, the page file is used a lot, so much that it's almost full too, but you can manually increase its size.  Use option one, steps 1-6, in this guide:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/77692-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10-a.html

Please set the initial size to 12000 and the maximum size to 12288, save the change, and restart your computer, then try to play again.

This is the message I got when my computer scanned.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

@SEA7772  Alright, sfc did its job, so please increase the page file size and let me know how another new save runs.  If it's fine, then test your existing save.
