Game crashes while saving

Hy dear Simmers! I have an annoying bug, when I want to save my household, the game crashes. I tried to "prettyprint" my last crash, but still don't understand it. ☹️  I don't receive error message...

If you have any mods move the mods folder to the desktop.

Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder - important

Fix the game in Origin.
Origin/Library -right click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.


If you don't have CC or mods delete this file and fix the game also. The game will create the same new file but without saved errors.


Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder. Check if a game is working now without mods.

Check if there are new updated versions of the mods and CC you are using.
Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods every time checking if the game is OK. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method

If it also will not work and your game will be crash, could you please to do Dxdiag of your computer?

You can attach it to your post directly.

But I hope that this what was written above will help and the problem is with the game - not with your computer

The fixing doesn't work. Origin is trying to fix the game for hours, and if it finally moves, an error message comes up, and it skips to an other expansion pack, where the same happens.


I've tried to make another household in the same save, and it worked. When I went back to the original household, it crashed again while saving, so I think the problem is on that lot. I've found an other exception txt file, it says something about the school, can it be the problem?

    Origin should repair your game. If it can not do it, it means that there is a serious error in the game files. In this case, you must uninstall the game by Origin and download it again.
    This reinstallation will only apply to installation files in the Program Files folder - this does not apply to the folders of your current game such as your saves or library. However, you should do it and after reinstallation check, if the game works correctly. For now, it is not known what serious errors have arisen in your saves by the incorrect operation of the game. We will see.
    Let's hope it can be fixed.
