Sims 4 Frequent Crahses

Before you ask: No, I never play with mods and have none installed. Yes, my OS is updated. Yes, my game is updated. Yes, I've repaired my game. Yes, I deleted and reinstalled the EA app. Yes, I've deleted the localthumbcache.package. Yes, I've deleted the onlinethumbnailcache folder. Yes, I renamed my Sims 4 folder and moved it to the desktop, yes, I started a new save . And yes, I've restarted my computer.

I've been playing this game for over a decade, I know the basic and advanced troubleshooting methods better than I know my own parents, so I think its time EA address that they are the ones breaking this game, not the users.

Ever since the Destroyed by Nature expansion pack came out, my game crashes about every 40 minutes. I know it's not just me having this problem as every simmer on YouTube is experiencing the same problem.

As a consumer, it's not to much to ask for a functional product, or a refund for the $1000+ we/I have spent on broken and unplayable DLC

Fix the frequent crashes

Thanks

Thank you for posting this. I have the same issue since the recent update and I was going mad trying to find what mod is causing this (I have over 2000 and it never crashed before).

Ever since installing the new pack, my game crashes too. Sometimes it is within minutes, other times I can play for a little longer before it happens. I also have tried everything to fix the issue myself. I do use mods, but I know they are not the issue because I removed them and started a new save file that also crashed.

  • FL1NTENSTE1N vonNirgendwo Maria82  If you'd like help troubleshooting the crashes, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

vonNirgendwo  Please test with your Mods folder removed as well if you use any mods or custom content at all.  There are many causes of crashing, including some mods and cc, so it's critical to find out whether that's the case for you.

Mmmhmm.... and this will be "marked as solution" because y'all love to deflect and not actually fix the issue. As I ALREADY stated, I've been doing this troubleshooting song and dance for over 10 years. I don't need "help troubleshooting" I need the Sims team to get it together and play test before they give us broken content. Take some responsibility

  • FL1NTENSTE1N  To be clear, I don't work for EA, so I'm not part of any effort to deflect, nor do I have any responsibility for the current state of the game or the new expansion.  I just want to get players back into their games.  So of course I'm going to look for computer problems first—those can be solved by the user (most of the time) and cannot be fixed on the EA side.

And I don't mark my "please post a dxdiag" replies as the solution, ever.  That's unhelpful at best and also completely disingenuous.

Since you don't want help, I won't try further.  But I'll leave the thread in PC tech in case the other two players who posted here DO want to try to get their games to work.

Thank you, I literally have been unable to play my game since the update. I'm beyond frustrated. I've done everything any forum has said.
