Still searching for a solution. The only "one" I have found, the person had success with completely restoring their windows to default factory settings. I'm sorry, but that is a tad far for this game.
I've been trying for hours now, and I know several others are having this issue.

Try if it starts if you do a clean boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Even with a windows reinstall and doing every single thing on this forum (and then some) I have been unable to get mine to launch. I'll see activationUI.exe flash in background processes, and then nothing. It works just fine on my laptop. I hope someone finds a solution.

Hi. We have found that most startup issues, despite seeming similar initially, can be quite diverse.
If you are having this issue, can you try these basic troubleshooting steps to begin with?- Ensure that Antivirus or security software is not blocking the launch of the game
- Make sure that you run Origin and the game as administrator
- If that still does not help, please run a Clean Boot as this will help with stopping any other programs from interfering
- Update your drivers
If you are still experiencing issues afterwards, please confirm that you have tried the steps above already and add as much information as possible in regards to what exactly happens on your screen after you click on "Play" in Origin. Can you check if there is a crash report created for the event in your Reliability Monitor?

After working with an EA person last night I tried the following things with no success
- disabling virus protection/firewall
- running as an admin
- updating windows 7 (optional updates)
- running with the prompt "w -und"
- deleting all temporary files
- running a clean boot
- uninstalling and reinstalling sims 4
- searching for some hidden files that have to do with origin and then deleting them
- reparing the game
I'm getting the feeling the game just simply does not work. The ea specialist was supposed to email me a few more steps, but I never receieved it.

I've been having the exact same problem with absolutely nothing changing.
I am installing origin and the Sims 4 on another PC mostly to see if the same problem happens. Hope we can get a fix for it soon!

Yeah, I'm getting close to the 24 hours here, and I'm assuming they will say I launched the game, which i clearly have not been able to. I really want to play but I don't want to sink $75 for a game that is broken to the point it won't even start.

Ya, I've tried everything as well, still wont start. Just get the activationui to flash in task manager for a second then it and ts4 closes and then i can click Play again in origin... wish someone would find a fix.
