Thank you! I do have mods, and I'll try that. However, would it just be one modded item that could be messing this up, or having mods on in general? Also, when would it be safe to turn mods back on after turning them off?

It could be a few after an update.
Anyhow, I saw this post in the bug forum:

It's always best to take out your mods/CC before updating. And putting them back slowly after the update is done.
When the game updates some CC and Mods need to be updated as well.
