I can't click Sims or self interact But i can interact with objects!!

I need Help Ive tried restarting game  Im not able to interact wit other sims or self interact but I'm able to  use objects And yes I do have mods

    @Lohla01  I'd like to see the dxdiag anyway; it doesn't always report all potential issues as problems.

    Please also test in a clean Sims 4 folder.  Move your existing folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and a clean folder will spawn the next time you launch the game.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you have the same issue.  Let me know either way.

@yurimayflower  As a test, please remove the entire Mods folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4, delete localthumbcache.package from the Sims 4 folder as well, and see whether the interactions are back.  You don't have to save your progress, so don't worry about missing items.  Just try it out.

I'm having the same issue. I tried this and it's still happening. If I can get past saving (loading, saving, and exiting are all incredibly slow) it'll work for a couple minutes then lock up again. It's basically frozen. I've tried everything I can find and nothing is helping. DxDiag shows nothing wrong. My laptop is a one year old, top of the line Asus ZenBook. All drivers completely up to date.

      @puzzlezaddict Thanks! Sooo I played around a little with a new family, made up exactly like I've been playing (2 adults, a teen, a toddler, and two cats) using the clean launch and I couldn't get it to replicate what's been happening. Does this mean there's an issue with one of my packs?

        @Lohla01  The most likely cause of the issue is either the save itself or something else in the Sims 4 folder you moved.  You can try copying over just the save, nothing else, to see how it runs in the clean folder.  (Since you're copying and pasting, you can use the spare copy for experiments while the original is still intact in the old folder.)

        If it works well, then the save is fine, and you can start adding other files from the old folder to the new one.  Keep testing though, in case something makes the game slow down again.  Here's a list of everything in your Sims 4 folder, so you'll know what you might want to keep and what you can discard:

        If the save runs slowly in the new folder, then the issue is probably the save itself and not anything else.  It can be difficult to fix an issue like that, although you can try playing with a different household within the same save for a few sim-hours and then switching back.  Be sure to save and quit to desktop before and after switching households.  You can also try moving the household to a new lot.

      @puzzlezaddict What to do if I can’t delete localthumbcache.package? When I move the Mod folder in desktop, delete this localthumbcache.package and when I start the game, again it shows up. I tried deleting it again and when I started the game, the localthumbcache.package again showed up. I did this multiple times but still the same? What can I do? Please help me

        @darina04  The localthumbcache.package will regenerate each time you load the game.  That's what cache files do.  The point is not to remove the file forever but to delete the old one with old data so the game has to create a new cache from scratch.

        Anyway, let me know whether you still have any issues while playing with no mods or custom content.
