I was having the same issue. I had a legacy family that I had worked for a week on. After three days of trying different things, the only thing that worked was to delete the entire Sims 4 folder out of my Documents and reinstall the game. It didn't work for three days and not it does. It sucks that I lost a whole generation but it is better than not being able to play.
