Hii!

I'm buying a laptop soon and i really wanna be able to play sims 4 smoothly

I saw this laptop but idk if it’s gonna be good enough?

CPU, Memory and Operating System:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor.
  • Quad core processor.
  • 2.1GHz processor speed.
  • 8GB RAM DDR4.
  • 256GB SSD storage.
  • Hard drive speed 5400RPM.
  • Microsoft Windows 10 S
  • @Fyesmin98  I'm guessing this is the first one you found?

If so, it's not a bad choice at all.  In fact, it's the best option I found on either site for under £400.  Given your budget, that's probably the best you'd be able to do on any site, unless you were willing to buy used from Ebay or something.  New laptops capable of ultra settings, at least without any lag, are usually £600 and up, although I did see one on sale for £500 earlier this week.

This laptop won't run Sims 4 in ultra, but it should run the game on medium-high graphics settings reasonably well, as long as you make sure it can cool itself properly while you play.  (Put books under the corners or use a laptop tray.)  Reducing the in-game resolution would also let you raise other settings a bit, but you can experiment and see for yourself what settings make the biggest difference for you.  At this level, it's not a question of whether the computer will run the game at all, it's about managing the settings (and the cooling) to get the best experience possible.

@kerimoore93  The first one is a much better choice than the second, and it's also a good price for the hardware.  While it's not a gaming computer, you won't find one in that price range, at least not unless you're willing to buy on Ebay.  (Otherwise, gaming laptops are more like £650 and up, even including sales.)

The first laptop should handle all Sims 4 packs together on medium graphics settings, maybe with a couple settings on high if you don't end up installing all the expansion packs.  The second doesn't really have enough storage—although it could technically hold all of Sims 4 and your saves, you wouldn't have room left over for anything else aside from some small apps like browsers.

    Perfect! Thank you so much!

It’s just for the sims 4 base game & maybe some mods/ cc if it can handle it!

    Thanks again 🙂

Another question if you don’t mind,

I have another laptop in mind, it’s very simular to the previous two but if worst comes and the others are sold out, will this laptop run ts4 as it’s only 4 ram? I know that’s recommended but I’d like to know how it would run.

    acer aspire 3 A315-23 / ryzen 3 3250U / 4 ram / 256GB SSD

if so, how will it run on low or medium settings? Will it hold cc/ mods?

I still want to go for my first choice but unfortunately with Covid and lockdown the store is closed and only does deliveries so I want a few options from a reputable store purely for the sims 4 only 🙂 thanks again for your help!

@kerimoore93  This laptop isn't nearly as good as the first one you listed, although it should still run Sims 4 on low-medium settings.  Where the 4 GB RAM would hurt is if you wanted to run most of the expansions and/or play with larger households: more sims and more info about those sims mean more data needs to be loaded into RAM.

If you want a backup plan, this one would also work well:

Its hard drive is smaller than the first one you listed, but its hardware is otherwise the same.
