Re: Mods not Supported?
The game is definitely designed with the ability to add custom content and mods (that's a huge part of The Sims appeal!), but any changes you make to the game that were not created by EA directly cannot be supported by EA.
If you run into an issue with your game and you have custom content installed, EA support will always ask for you to remove the content before trying any troubleshooting steps because they have no idea what that content might have done to your game.
It's always safe practice to remove your mods before an update, as well. When the game has an update, it does not accomodate all the extra content users have made for the game, only EA content. It's very easy to corrupt your game this way!
EA is by no means telling that they cannot help you if you like custom content and mods. They are just telling you that they can help you with their product, not the products of others. You wouldn't contact your cable company if your tv doesn't turn on, you'd contact the manufacturer of the tv!
