@paolaelectra I don't think your all-in-one has a video card slot. Your video drivers are out of date. HP has an Intel video driver dated Oct 4,2018. I'm guessing your computer was Windows 8.1 and upgraded to Windows 10. Hp has a video driver for the AMD video chip but doesn't say if the driver is for Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. AMD has a video driver dated 1/29/2020 for Windows 10 you could try. The AMD Radeon R7 A360 video chip is entry level. You may get better performance lowering the resolution after you try the new drivers.

I guess you're right about the Windows upgrade, honestly I don't remember, but could be, who knows?

So the AMD video driver dated 1/29/2020 for Windows 10, how do I try it? I'm no expert, I only open 'manage devices' or something and upgrade both the Intel and Radeon thingies from there.

And you mean lowering the resolution in the game or in the computer. I'm currently running TS4 on medium level (it did it itself when I renamed the folder). I only activated laptop mode, or whatever the name. For the record, before renaming the folder, I tried the game at its lowest. It didn't reduce the lagging and delaying a bit.

Another thing, when I turn off the computer, go to sleep, turn it on, start the game, it runs perfectly and smoothly, no lag, no nothing and just today, as an example, I started playing at 13:11, at 13:48 lagging started :\

@paolaelectra When the computer was upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 you probably got default generic drivers for Windows 10 so the computer would work. Your graphics chip a Radeon which is an ATI product but now owned by AMD. As your video chip is entry level you could try a resolution of 1024x768. The higher the resolution the harder the video chip has to work. Your Intel chip is running at 1920x1080 so I'm guessing when the AMD chip is turned on when playing 3D graphical games that will run a 1920x1080. that is 1080p HD. Reducing the resolution allows the graphic chip to run faster. First update your graphics driver. This is a standard procedure for 3D games. Go to AMD support or just google drivers for AMD Radeon R7 A360. Download the WHQL file and run it.

- press the + by Windows 10 64 bit edition

- press download on the WHQL version

- once downloaded double click the downloaded file

- follow the prompts

- when the driver has installed reboot the computer

after reboot make the graphics to make sure the sims 4 is configured to use the AMD chip when the game starts. You may have to refer to the internet how the HP switches graphics for games. I'm not sure how Radeon chips do this as I usually use Nvidia graphics chips.

I sadly downloaded the wrong AMD controller 'cause just now I got a message saying I didn't have AMD controllers installed, so I uninstalled it. I tried looking for it manually, and all I get is AMD Radeon R7 360, will that do? I tried looking for the exact name, it only took me to a page claiming they have the controllers "right from AMD or from reliable sources" so I'm not risking that.

I tried setting my computer to 1024 x 768, made me feel I was back in 2009, and guess what? game was still laggy.

@paolaelectra Go to the AMD support site and try the AMD Radeon R7 360 Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.2.2 WHQL. This should cover all 360 series devices. The installer should tell you if your device is not covered. The worst you that can happen is you will have to roll back the device driver in device manager or download the the driver from HP. Radeon is a trademark from ATI. AMD now owns ATI. In 2006 ATI Technologies Inc was aquired by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Here is a direct link to the drivers I found AMD Radeon R7 360 series  Try the WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) as this has been tested by Microsoft to be compatible with Windows 10.

Ok. All is done, now, what do I do? I downloaded and installed it and this is what I get (attached). How do I turn it on? Is it automatic? like, is it already working or do I have to do something?

When I installed it yesternight I turned off the computer and this morning I opened the game, took FOREVER to load (because I left it in the middle of a party, I've always suspected that the amount of Sims in a household is directly proportional to the lagging, but someone sometime told me the amount of Sims is irrelevant) :\ , had audio issues from the very beginning of the loading screen, and lagging was as usual: annoying.

That's why I ask, do I need to do something to the controller? Activate it somehow? As you can see in the attachment, I get no chance or way to "switch graphics", as you told me to, as it appears in this page: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-017

Uhm ok.

Since my problem has not been resolved I want to update this.

I installed then later uninstalled AMD controller because the only thing it did was: nothing. Oh wait it did, it increased the sound of my CPU (you know? THAT sound, when ventilators or something are working hard, a sound I've never heard before in THIS computer). It also closed GPU using things, e.g. I was playing a card game and while TS4 was closing, which as I already stated before it takes 10 - 15 min, card game just closed, I noticed it used a highest amount of GPU than TS4.

So I proceeded to low the quality of my game, I'm currently running it at its lowest. No change. Lag still happens, thing is unplayable.

I'm briefly gonna describe how it goes:

I wake up

Turn on computer

Launch The Sims from the task bar, Origin's logo, right click, Run The Sims 4 Digital Deluxe

I don't open anything else, though computer runs things, like McAfee and things I can't even read :\

Game launches

Takes two minutes to take me to the world screen (the one you choose the household you're currently playing with)

Loading the household takes 3 - 4 min IF the Sim is at home, if they are someplace else, it takes 7 - 10 min

Game starts

After 5 mins, lag starts, sound starts failing (it scratches, doubles), animation is laggy, Sims freeze, I have to pause/unpause for them to continue whatever they're doing, they walk through walls, furniture, swim outside the pool... things like that.

IF I have to travel (to Uni, as of lately) it takes 10 - 15 min to do so.

While there, lag is even worse, other Sims won't move at all, my Sim would take 2 min to react to whatever action they're supposed to do and as an example, just a few minutes ago, my Sim was at Uni, her classes were off the clock though she attended them all using the pause/unpause trick, and when I sent her to teach a class she spent until 5 am there, I had to exit game 'cause she wouldn't go out even though green bar showed she had completed the task, pause/unpause trick wouldn't work anymore so I closed the thing.

All of this happened in just 1 hour, which means I can play TS4 for an hour. 1 hour only. Day has 24 of them.

Is it me? Is it you? Is it the world itself? the economy? the weather?

AMD Radeon controller update WON'T FIX ANYTHING

Shall I change my graphic card?

My whole computer?

Or can I save all my households to the gallery, start a new game, and download them all to start afresh? Relationships will break though, I've done this once, sisters stopped being sisters, parents had no children anymore, it was a great loss for me, I worked so hard to get a HUGE family tree.

Update:

I contacted EA Help (in Spanish), they gave me some advice on uninstalling/reinstalling TS4, it fixed nothing.

I haven't contact them again because timing, but I will.

I'll keep you updated until this gets fixed, 'cause certainly everybody cares.

So hi again!

So far, my game is the same, not worst fortunately, but I do not enjoy playing anymore.

There are a few things I've done:

Check if I meet the minimum requirements, I do.

Delete DNS (whatever that is)

Uninstall/Reinstall Origin and TS4 (Took my internet connection two days, but done)

Run both Origin and TS4 as Admin. (No improvement)

Repair game (Always do it, nothing changes)

Visited HP support site to download latest drivers on both Intel and AMD graphic things, Intel said I had a better version than I was about to install so I canceled the action, AMD downloaded "a thing" (Catalyst Control Center) that did nothing 'cause when installation was about to end, it displayed an error message.

Tried fixing compatibility problems, didn't help.

Made Origin.exe TS4.exe and TS4_x64.exe exceptions to McAfee. We'll see, I've just done that, hadn't restart yet.

Didn't use Ccleaner, instead ran a full clean from McAfee, as recommended by Holy Microsoft itself: Didn't help one bit.

Removed ALL USB devices, except mouse and keyboard. No help.

Deactivated Origin. I did this yesternight, I could play today, so I guess it did help a little.

Created an admin account and ran the game from there. Game ran the exact same, all laggy and iugh

Cleaned Origin's cache. We'll see, again, I hadn't restarted this baby.

Tried it on a different device (laptop) which can fit in THIS computer 6 times. Game runs PERFECTLY there.

What I couldn't do: 

Start the game from Safe mode. I couldn't access Safe Mode, requires a password that I don't have and in order to get it I would have to jeopardize my very OS, my soul, and my first-born. So no. I won't do that.

Start my computer with a "Clean Boot". I do every step but when I restart the computer, all programs are running as usual, I've read that I might need the assistance of a professional because something might interfere with this kind of thing, but I had a box full of professionals, ate my last one on Christmas 2015 :\
