Re: My sims 4 is so delayed and laggy

Hi!

Sorry to hang onto someone else's post but I'm desperate.

I have the same problem as OP but I must add my waiting screens go from 3 mins to 30 mins, audio is horrible, there's no difference between 1x speed vs. 3x speed, time (specially noticeable in University expansion) doesn't match, e.g. classes start at 8 am, my Sim takes 35 mins to enter it, even when they're standing in front of the building where class is supposed to take place, classes ends at let's say 9:25, it's 10:05 and Sim is still at it, while the counter for next class hasn't even started when it's supposed to start at 09:30. Parties are nightmares, guests take forever to arrive and when they do everything freezes and noone does nothing, even once guests stayed for three days, I had to take them personally outside my house. I could go on and on and on with issues like this.

I've done what @puzzlezaddict  suggested, but I didn't take out TheSims folder to my desktop, I renamed it, so it started a new game and since I don't want to lose my 64 Sims, I copied+pasted the last save file from Saves folder so I could have all my families and the like. Needless to say, this didn't help at all.

Another annoying thing that really wants me to throw away The Sims 4 and play something else instead, is the fact that I can't do anything else but play, I can't open browsers, I can't work (Microsoft Office), I can't listen to music (Winamp, yes Winamp, how much resources does that take?) or even open a folder. Is not that I can't can't, is more that all of those are as laggy as the game, and you would say, what's the problem? just play! Well I've tried, I've tried closing EVERYTHING closable, nothing improves TS4. And to be honest I NEED to do something else besides playing, that's why I like the Sims, you can listen to music, browse the internet while playing 'cause honestly, there's a lot of dead times in the game. I could do all those things before, but something happened, something between updates and expansions, can't remember which one, Island one? Magic one? can't remember.

I have the full game, except Small Living 'cause again, why would I buy something that ain't working? If I buy another pack, another expansion, my comp will blow up. It is an HP Pavilion All-In-One 27-n103la, 16 GB RAM, Intel Core i7, 64 bits, 27" touchscreen, Windows 10, don't know what else to say... maybe the graphic card? I attach the DxDiag thingie, help will be much appreciated.

=(

I'm so sad

Thanks in advance

After all I've done and not done, this is the current state of my game:

I turn it on, it loads perfectly under specific circumstances: my computer has to be turned off for more than 1 hour.

The last loading screen makes the 'starting sound', you know? that music that immediately takes you to your household, only my computer decides it's better to wait 2 - 3 minutes to actually start the game.

Once there, everything runs smoothly, animation is sweet and soft, all Sims do what I tell them, like it used to, like it's supposed to.

Then after 5 mins or so, Sims start to walk through doors or walls or furniture or toddlers, you name it, but hey! they're still playable.

Later, 1 of the Sims won't do anything, they get stuck while the rest of the household live their lives as they should.

Later on, is the three of them, walking through objects, getting stuck at whatever they were doing and the most important part is, they won't go to work at the time they should, I've explained this before, let's say Sim A has to get to work at 10:00 am, it's 12:00 and he's still there. What I do is either pause the game, open game's configuration, or open the calendar, they eventually resume their activities but this takes 1 - 3 mins. Also, most times Sims are shown to be at work while they're still hanging in the house.

Another thing, pause takes A LOT to actually pause the game.

You said all I needed to keep the Sims working was a 64 bit OS. I have it.

    What's the problem?
