Re: Opinion on new laptop for gaming..
@BylineBelife That seems like a very reasonable price. The Victus line is better quality than most entry-level gaming laptops, not to say they're bad, just that they're made as cheaply as is reasonably possible. The next level up is laptops like the Victus and the Lenovo Legion, sometimes the Asus ROG models (depending on the year), and then you get to more premium laptops like Razer that are probably not what you want.
Pretty much all gaming laptops come with a bottom panel that can be removed with screws, plus occasionally a guitar pick or something of similar size to separate the panel from the rest of the chassis. Inside, almost any laptop 15" or larger is going to have either two slots for RAM, or one slot and one module soldered to the motherboard. The exceptions are a few smaller laptops, usually lower-end ones but sometimes also gaming models like the ROG Strix 14" laptops. Regardless, finding out is one google search away: just enter the laptop model and "upgrade RAM" and you'll find videos showing exactly how to do it.
At any rate, it's more convenient to have someone else add the memory, and this is a cheap upgrade. So if you like the laptop overall, it's a very good choice.
If you end up waiting instead, let me know if and when you'd like another second opinion or more help searching.
