Re: Origin is not running message (d3382ced:984c6a38:00000000)... although it is

Hello all,

If you receive this error message and you just installed the game using a disk, please, try to follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall Origin
  2. Download the latest version of Origin from Origin website and install it - make sure to run the setup file with Admin rights

Otherwise, or if that didn't help, please try the steps listed below:

  1. Manually uninstall Origin
  2. Make sure that your UAC is enabled and set to notify
  3. Download the latest version of Origin and install the client - make sure to run the setup file with Admin rights
  4. Add firewall/antivirus exceptions for Origin and open the needed ports
  5. When starting Origin, please make sure to run it as Administrator

If for some reason, the issue should remain, please run Origin Error Report and post the ID here.

Thank you!

Edit: You could also try switching the game to 32-bit version to see if this helps:

  • Right click on The Sims 4 tile in Origin.
  • Select “Game Properties
  • Change the “When launching this Game” setting to “The Sims 4 32-bit

  • Like many of you I have been frustrated for days and nothing any one suggested here seemed to be working, that is not until literately one minute ago so I thought I'd share what worked for me.  Open origin, go to my games from there click game properties by right clicking the sims 4, once that window pops on up  move the when launching the game down to the sims 4 32 bit hit okay and then open the game. Hope this helps you all like it has me happy simming!

Same here! Once I've changed it to 32 bit it worked.

I have manually uninstalled both origin and TS4, I have no antivirus and my firewall is off. I have run in compatability mode and both 32-64bit always running as administrator. I have also run ccleaner. I have played the game for over 60 hours and seemingly randomly i started getting this message.
  • Unfortunately it did not work..., just for future reference I have turned the firewall off. Also I have been able to connect with my other pc with no issue.
  • It did work after I did a clean boot.
The problem was a program called media updater.
Thank you for pointing me in a good direction.

    Seems to be a virus/adware.

Did you remove the program entirely ?
