I tried closing all my razer software, but Sims 4 still wouldn't open. It seems like there is an update. I will try updating it and if it still fails, then I will try uninstalling it. I will update you after I give it all a go.
Oh!! I just uninstalled all my razer software all together and it launched!!! Thank you, thank you!! I have spent too much money on sims for it not to work lol.
I value your help so much!
I do have another question. I bought a lot of packs when they were on sale and I was slowly installing them as I wanted them... And while I was repairing the game on Origin all those packs were installed when I wasn't paying attention. Is there a way to uninstall game packs or expansions?@05cadams It's good to know that you needed to uninstall the software rather than simply closing it, so thanks for the clarification.
There's no officially supported way of uninstalling packs without also uninstalling the base game. But you can disable them if you want:
https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2017/03/disable-single-packs/
There's also an unofficial (use at your own risk) way to uninstall the pack: delete its folder from the game's program files. The default location is here:
Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4
You'll see a folder for each pack you've installed, labeled by type and release order. For example, Seasons was the fifth expansion released, so its folder is EP05. If you do this, be sure to disable automatic updates in Origin, otherwise Origin will likely download the packs again the next time you're not paying attention.
Thank you! I will looking disabling packs then.
Also, I just decided to uninstall the razer software because I was having such a hard time getting all the razer related things to close and STAY closed. Every time I ended a task, another would pop up. It frustrated me too much so I just uninstalled it. I may re-install it later, though. My friend told me Razer messed with Genshin Impact being able to launch so they uninstalled the Razer software and re-installed the software without any issues after launching Genshin.
One more question. Is it possible to have sims 4 located in another location other than your C:/ drive? Right now that is where mine is, but in Origin, I've had games set to go to my D:/ drive. It's ok if I can't move it, but my C:/ is pretty small and I'd love to relocate my sims 4 folder to my D:/ drive if it's possible.@05cadams If you're talking about the game's program files, then it's easy to move them. Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Move Game, then choose the destination folder on D.
For the user data, i.e. saves, mods, etc., you can move the Documents directory to D, which is simple and supported by Windows:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/74952-move-location-documents-folder-windows-10-a.html
Or you can use a symbolic link to point the game to your preferred location on D. You can move the Electronic Arts folder or the Sims 4 folder inside it; just make sure to get the file path exactly right. If you have questions about that or any other part of the process, please ask me before doing anything as it's a lot easier to do before there's anything to fix.
In either case, back up your saves and other critical Sims 4 data beforehand.
Thank you @puzzlezaddict! You are amazing. I have seen you all over questions on this site. I just moved my entire documents folder using the first link in your most recent reply. I had been meaning to do that regardless, I just worried it could cause some issues. I have also made links to folders and such before too, but forgot all about that feature on windows!
Thank you again for all your helps, I really appreciate it all!
