@jillianmarco Your dxdiag shows a number of errors, including breakpoints for Sims 4, but the most obvious issue is that your drive is almost completely out of storage. This alone could account for the errors, and it may also be the reason your Windows build is more than a year out of date. So that's the first thing to address. Try clearing at least another 20 GB (Windows needs at least 20 free to install a feature update); your Downloads folder is a good place to look for extraneous files.
Once you've cleared the space, run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates. Windows may automatically start downloading a feature update, which would be good—a freshly updated Windows build addresses a number of potential issues. Once Windows has finished updating, whether it's a feature update or just the usual smaller ones, restart again and try to play.
If you get another crash or error, please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you can play normally. Let me know either way. And if the game crashes in a new save, please post a new dxdiag.
