Cant download get to work pack after buying it from Steam

So, i had this pack from when i first started playing and i got it for free with the basegame, whixh i found a bit srange at the time but oh well, whaz do i know, so i didnt really further question it and just played with it. In every single one of my gamefiles. So now, its gone after the may 21th update. I looked this upp and someone on somw forum said thatw as a temporary thing and now u gotta buy it to play with it, so I did.

Buuuut, when i went ingame it wasnt installedy so i thought id just have to restart my game and itd download. It still didnt, even though every previous pack I bought, did. Since then, ive tried pretty much every tip people on various forums gave for stuff like this (all like 2 years old though so idk). I tried repairing the game, deleting the cache from both steam and the ea app, redownloading the game multiple times, restarting my pc, yadayada, i honestyl dont know what to do anymore cuz i cant use my saves without this stupid pack. Everytime i try, Steam just tells me my content file is locked.

Also, it laggs horribly for some reasonw hen it ran just fine before the update. (Also, if u have any further advice, try to keep it simple, i have no **bleep** clue how pcs or files etc work, i havnt had it for long and was nwver really allowed to use a pc before recently.)

  • Red_Robin6967  Just to be sure, did you buy Get to Work through Steam or the EA App, and are you launching Sims 4 through Steam or the EA App?  GtW is part of an EA Play subscription, so that may be how you accessed it in the first place, and then it would have been removed when the sub expired.

As for the game lagging, it's possible this has to do with your missing pack, if it went missing at the same time as the lag showed up.  It's also possible these are unrelated.  So please test a new save and let me know how it runs.

Please also provide a dxdiag, for reference.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I bought it through steam, just as every other pack i own + the basegame. Im usually launching it through steam, though it gives me the same error no matter whixh option i try.

As for trying to run it and making a new safe file, i cant open it, just gives me an error message cuz my content file is locked.

    Hey Red_Robin6967

It sounds like the initial, free version of Get to Work you got before purchasing the pack was through a subscription, such as Xbox Game Pass PC or EA Play. When that subscription ended, it took your access to the pack along with it.

In this case, since you own the pack outside the subscription through Steam, you'll need to contact live support and have them take a look at your account to make sure the pack is accessible

Let us know how it goes, thanks!
