Re: Resolved - Free Desert Luxe Kit Unable to be Claimed

I am having a similar problem, i havent been able to download the Desert Luxe kit for free 

when in try in game it just tells me that my shopping cart needs a higher resolution in order to get to the shopping cart (im on my laptop) 

theres no option to download for free in the EA app, which i was also practically forced to download a few weeks ago

ive also seen some people having severe problems, losing all their packs which i dont want to have happen after spending so much money on the game

    @its_swiftie24 Heya!

    Is this still happening now? On the EA App you should be able to grab the Kit under Add-Ons, it'll still show as $4.99 until you get to the final confirmation screen, then it should show a 100% discount.

    Please let me know if this helps or if you're still unable to grab the content.

    Its still not working, its asking for card information which j suppose is right but im unable to go further

    @its_swiftie24 Thanks for that information, could you get us a screenshot of the shopping cart resolution error message by chance so I can get this investigated?

    Oh i just got go any further because i didnt have the card information to hand

    Hi @its_swiftie24,

    Are you still getting that resolution error? Try swapping to full-screen mode in your game settings and let me know if that clears that error up please.

    Oh yes, ive had that issue since i got the game a few years ago (2018 i think) so ive always had to go through origin, or now the EA App

    i'm still having the issue and there is also no bit in the main menu about the kit going free

    Okay, please grab a screenshot of that resolution error once you're able to so we can look into that a bit further.

    1,366 x705

    i have the option to change it to 1,366 x728 but i still get the same message

    @its_swiftie24 

    Try selecting the Restore Defaults option under the Graphics tab in the game settings please. If this doesn't clear up the error, please try from the EA App again and let me know what issues you see there if you run into any. 

    You may be prompted to enter your card details there, but you won't be charged as the pack is free.

    The screen resolution thing still happens but goinf through the ea app worked this time 

    thank you for your help but please continue to look into the screen resolution thing if you can

    @LoriDee 

    I see that you have the Legacy Edition this does not qualify for the promotion as it can not run this pack or any other pack released after Oct. 2019.

    @jpkarlsen Thanks, but I do not run Legacy Edition, That was extra content that came with the Digital Deluxe that I run. Nowhere is there any indication that there are "qualifications" to receive the free product. I have a Service Request ticket opened with EA now. Thanks again.

    Hi @LoriDee,

    Did you just purchase the Sims 4 recently? We're investigating an issue with claiming the free content if you haven't owned the base game for at least 2 weeks.
  • @EA_Cade Yes. The screenshot shows the purchase of the Digital Deluxe edition on 9/25/22. The charge for the Desert Luxe Kit is dated Oct. 1.
