Re: Sims 4 crash issues: Previous clean crash returned and in need of repair

@Godleyjeans Crashing issues are very individual unless there's a specific interaction causing it. It's best to do some troubleshooting even if you just want to report it, more info is needed to narrow down what's causing it.

Could you please post your DxDiag. ?

You say you have no log errors, does that mean you have no LastCrash.txt files in your documents folder ?

I've had to attach the Dxdiag file to this reply as for whatever reason it won't like me just copy and paste it like before.

Thank you for replying and yes to zero LastCrash files, because it doesn't seem to be a crash, it's like I've told it to close when I haven't, my sims were just using the bathroom! Attempted to load it a few moments ago and the issue happened again, with no error log or anything.

@Godleyjeans Is it always when they try to use the bathroom ? Have you tested another save to see if it's related to the save game ?

It’s any save, and not specially using the bathroom, I meant that’s the last thing my sims were doing before the previous close. It’s totally random at best and it’s ironically during the least stressful/heavy use moments when you’d expect it to cause the crash.

this is why I call it a clean crash or more closing issue because it’s like the game is just deciding to close itself.

Just did that, and the game closed itself less than 5 minutes after.

yet again no LastCrash file and nothing via the game or my computer indicating it was a "Crash", the game is simply closing itself automatically.

@Godleyjeans  Please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of Origin and Sims 4, together.  Start with the game:

    • Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
    • Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
    • Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
    • Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
    • Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

    Next, uninstall Origin:

    • Quit Origin, then right-click on the Task Bar and open the Task Manager.  Scroll through looking for Origin entries.  If you find any, click on them and End Task.
    • Next, clear Origin's cache.
    • Launch Revo again and uninstall Origin, and when it's uninstalled, select "Moderate" again and Scan.
    • If Revo finds any remaining registry entries, select all, delete, and click Next.
    • Revo will display "Remaining Data and Folders.  Select all of them except for the "Origin Games" folder, if it appears.  (This is where other Origin games are installed by default.)  Delete the rest.
    • Close Revo, and restart your computer.

Next, download the full Origin installer and run it.  Here's the direct download link:

    http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

Be sure to run both the installer and Origin itself as an admin: right-click on each and select "Run as Administrator."  When it's reinstalled, download Sims 4.  Restart after installing and before playing, and allow the game to create a new user folder in Documents\Electronic Arts rather than reusing your existing one.

If you get another crash, please look for a crash dump.  Click Windows key-R and copy and paste this:

    %LocalAppData%\CrashDumps

When you enter, you'll see a list of .dmp files.  If one of them is from Sims 4 or Origin and has a timestamp from after you reinstalled both, please upload it to a third-party filehosting site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and link it here.

(Excuse replying to myself as the thread doesn't have the option to just comment below) After the last update, my game stabilized and now tonight it's clean crashing every 5 minutes after a few weeks of solid no crashes.

I've done EVERYTHING apart from wiping my computer and doing a factory reset.

Origin has been reinstalled. The game has been fixed more times than one can count. last crashes uploaded and there doesn't appear to be a cause.

My computer is more than able to run it, things just seem to point to EA's end, and don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for all the help and advice given on and off here but is it too much for staff to just release an update addressing this issue? is the problem not affecting enough simmers that they don't see it worth mentioning to the repair team?

Sorry for the offish tone, I'm just tired of trying to find a solution to something that should've been handled long ago with the fear it'll be another sims 3 situation where my game was affected by a glitch not many seemed to have (Age freeze) so it never got sorted and I was left high and dry with only options of mods or just not playing it at all.

@Godleyjeans  Please post a new dxdiag, since it's been a couple months.

This is definitely not only an EA issue, or else we'd see a lot more posts about crashes.  Sure, there are plenty of posts, but not on the scale that would represent a common issue within the massive player base.  (I'm comparing this in my head to the complaints about the Father Winter issue, which generated hundreds of posts in the first week.)  I'm not saying the game is perfect, just that a system issue is more likely.
