Re: Sims 4 Mouse Sensitivity

@Three_dolla_min

This is known to be caused by Reshade because it conflicts with other game overlays. You can either disable Reshade for The Sims 4 (the Reshade forums should have info on how to do this) or you can disable Origin in game.

  • @jpkarlsen Thank you so much! I had the same problem, turns out it was caused by the Origin in game. I disabled it, and it seemed to do the trick!
    I can finally play the game without getting all motion sick.

    Actually it is not caused by Origin in Game but Reshade and similar overlays that conflict with Origin in Game which is why disabling this also works. So if you can live without its function in the game you can disable this instead.

  • @jpkarlsen Wrong. It's origin in game. I was using no mods and had a clean install of the game and was having the problem. Disabling origin in game fixed it. Origin is so broken, it's no wonder everyone wants everything on Steam.

    If it were Origin in Game millions of users would have the problem instead of only those that use Reshade or similar overlays. Mods do not have anything to do with this issue.

    Thank you so much for mentioning this! I thought the pretty graphics were going to have to go away as soon as I downloaded the reshader stuff because the spinning made the game unplayable. Disabling Origin in game fixed it for me though!

    How do you field origin in game?

    I have no mods and my mouse sensitivity is super high in game, it only does the excessive spin in First person view. But still. My mouse has custom sensitivity setting that the game ignores. It makes adjusting my camera angle frustrating and I wanted to use first person view. :/

    @crinrictThis still didn’t work for me. I removed all my mods out of the folder (I don’t use reshade either) And I removed origin in game. But the problem still persists. But not in any other game or on the PC overall. It’s just the sims 😫

  • I just started having this issue today.  Don't have reshade or anything similar on my computer.  Will try the origin in game thing and see if that fixes it.

    Edit: Had origin in game turned off globally, but apparently it had reapplied itself to the sims 4 at some point. So turned it off specifically for sims 4 and now my camera is working normally.  If you're having issues with crazy camera rotation, try disabling origin in game because it's not playing well with others right now.

  • @h1ddenb1ades- Try disabling origin in game for the sims specifically.  Go to the games library, right click on sims 4, and select game properties.  I had origin in game turned off globally, but it was somehow turned on for sims 4.  Could be something sneaky like that.  Hopefully that helps!
