@jasminel38 If you have OneDrive enabled, try looking there for your saves. It's not uncommon for OneDrive to sync the contents of Documents with cloud storage and also to remove the local versions of those files.
If OneDrive isn't the problem, try searching your hard drive for the saves. Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and search for Slot_* (with the asterisk), which should turn up any saves on your computer. (Someone once mentioned that searching for Slot_ with no asterisk worked for them, so you can try that too.) If you find any saves other than the new one you just made, click on one and then click the "Open file location" icon, and you'll land in the folder where that save is.
If you find any saves, you can move them back to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves, and the game should read them again.
