@DAGGERFN Are you playing through Origin or Steam? Does Origin open on its own, as in, can you launch it separately from Sims 4 and does it load properly?

i can open origin but not sims, i've done everything from updating to repairing to reinstalling and nothing has changed, please help
@ajhorne25 Please move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.
If the game still won't load, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
