Re: Sims 4 won't load after the newest origin update.

Are you sure the game was repaired? It looks like it's installing but a little bit faster

If you are sure, do you get any errors? Or what happens when you double click on the game?

Try restarting Origin, fully close it, and open it as administrator (right clicking it). Try the game, if it doesn't work, give the repair another try.

  • Hi there!

There are a couple of documents that you can produce on your computer that may help to provide a few clues as to what is happening here:

On your keyboard, hold down the "Windows" key and press the "R" key to bring up the "Run" dialog box.
Next, type "dxdiag". You should see the "DirectX Diagnostic Tool" window pop up. Let the green bar in the bottom left fully load, then select "Save All Information" in the bottom right. Save this to your desktop.
Once you have these documents saved to your desktop, choose the option in your reply to attach your file - "Choose File", next to the paperclip icon. Select the "dxdiag" documents from your desktop, upload it here, and I'll take a look!

You have only 4 GB RAM so, you need to make sure the game is launching in 32 bit.

To do that, click on the game tile in Origin then click on the Settings Cog below the image of the game. Choose Game Properties then click Advanced Options at the top of the panel that opens. There you can set the game to launch in 32 bit.

Let us know if that helps.

@zena695 You have Radeon R5 Graphics, that's a weak card for gaming so, make sure the game runs in 32 bit mode and, lower some settings to help it run better.

Thank you, I adjusted my settings after I restarted my laptop, and it's working again.

At first, it worked with a lower resolution, but then it stopped. I ended up pulling out the existing Sims 4 folder from documents, and starting over, and now it's working. It may have been some bad cc, or a problem with one of my saved games. Thank you for responding.

It's not working now, I have no cc in the game, I started a new Sims 4 folder. It will work for awhile then stop.
