Re: Sims 4 Wont Load

Thank you for you response. Disabling Origin did not work so I've attached the DxDiag.

@chaoticmess  It's interesting that you can play once in a clean folder before the game stops working again.  Do you have OneDrive enabled and set to automatically sync the contents of Documents?  Do you have a cleaner app running?

Please try playing while your computer is completely offline.  You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before launching the game.  Please try this twice, once with a clean user folder and a second time with that same folder in place, to see if you can get the game to load the second time.

The type of Sims 4 error in your dxdiag is most often related to the graphics driver, but the fact that you can play once makes that less likely.  Still, if other steps don't work, you can try a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver.  (You already have the latest version offered by Dell for your laptop.)  Since that's a bit of a production though, it's probably easier to try other, simpler interventions first.

I don't have any cleaner apps running but I do have OneDrive enabled. I did as you suggested twice and the game works fine now.

Question, would Sims 4 being synced with OneDrive be the problem?

Also, If the issue arises again, I'll post again. But your suggestion earlier is working for me 🙂

Thank you again for your assistance.

@chaoticmess  OneDrive could certainly interfere with Sims 4, particularly if the game is trying to access files in the local version of Documents while OneDrive is trying to sync those files to cloud storage.  I'm not sure exactly what the issue is, although I can imagine a couple of scenarios, but the bottom line is that allowing OneDrive to automatically sync files that the game needs to access causes all sorts of problems.  There's nothing wrong with having it running, as long as you do the uploading manually.
