Re: Sims 4 wont save after playing

@futileknowledge  Check OneDrive's Documents folder for any Sims 4 content.  OneDrive shouldn't have deleted anything if you merely paused syncing; the whole point is that it leaves those files alone for a while.

For the game data missing or damaged message, with OneDrive still not syncing your files, please move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, then try to play again.  All your data will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily not read by the game.  The point is to see whether Sims 4 loads properly with a clean folder in place, then start adding back your mods and other data and testing it as you go.

@futileknowledge  That usually happens because OneDrive is having trouble syncing the files.  Do you see the same error if you've paused syncing?  That's the typical way to get around it.

@futileknowledge  Okay, copy the entire Sims 4 folder to a safe location, preferably an external drive or USB stick, but the Downloads folder will work if you don't have anything else.  (Right-click on the folder and select Copy, then right-click in the destination folder and select Paste.)  You should be able to do this with OneDrive syncing paused, but if not, unpause it.  Then pause syncing again if necessary, cancel the current sync, and choose not to auto-sync Documents.

Restart your computer, launch Sims 4, start a new save, and see whether it works.  If you can in fact save, restart your computer again and make sure you can load that save.
