Re: Sims can't go on dates or propose

There is a bug with vampires where the date seems to fail if done during the day but the rest works fine for me.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

  • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
  • Tray Folder
  • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
  • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
  • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
  • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    Hello~

    As promised, I came back to give a feedback. First of all, thank you very much for helping me out.

    At first I did reset my user files as you recommended. After noticing that everything works perfectly, even for vampire-human interactions, I decided to add my files back. The tray and the saves didn't affect my game at all. I did reset the Options.ini file manually, and didn't copy the one I already had. My mods made it a bit laggy, as usual, but at least my sims were able to go on dates and have romantic interractions (I decided to move all of my files at once to see if they were the problem, but it seems that all of my cc was ok). My vampire had a mini-date with her boyfriend, and my other sims were able to propose and ask to be lovers.

    However, I noticed a glitch (maybe because of the latest update) where, after traveling to a lot to have a date, the menu doesn't disappear and it overlaps with my UI.

    But overall, I'm really happy they're back to normal now.

    That being said, I'm really grateful four your help.🙂
