Re: Sims Delivery Error 00000008:00000000000000c8

Thank you again!

Onedrive is not connected to my computer. In fact I accidently connected it while looking for it. The only mods I had active were for cas. When I try to load my save it gives an Error 22. I tried looking that up and found several ways of resetting the save but so far nothing has worked. I checked my anti-virus and every path to EA and the Sims 4 are excused. Hopefully I'll find something else in the future. Thank you for trying!

@dawname  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you get the same SDX error.  If not, please create a new save, quit, restart your computer, reload the game, and see whether you can still load that save.

If the new save loads, copy over your existing save, but nothing else yet, and try loading it too.  If the main household doesn't load, try a different one within that save.

@arispaps  I've merged your post with another thread for the same issue.  Please try the suggestions on page one.

    Sure thing!

I removed the save folder and the mods just to be sure.

I started the game and had no sims delivery error but the new game button looked weird.

I closed out of the game and checked to make sure a new save folder appeared, it did. Then I opened the game and the sims delivery error appeared and the new game button is still weird.

@dawname  Please clear the EA App's cache:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

and repair the game (again): open the App game library, click Sims 4, and select Manage > Repair.

Then try again and see whether the problems are still there.

If they are, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it with your Microsoft account.  Run the same test as before: create a new save, save your progress, quit, restart your computer, and see whether the save is available to load and the SDX downloads properly.

The cache and the repair did not work.

I did make a new user and did not connect a Microsoft account and made a new save and it's working again.

Sadly when I attempted to add my old save file in it broke again and I was forced to make a whole new user account haha

I don't know what's going on but I'm assuming something didnt save properly in my last game due to the Microsoft account?

So hopefully if I just play on the new account that isn't connected this problem won't occur again.

Thank you for your time puzzleaddict!!

@LoekDorMex  I've merged your post with a longer thread for this issue.  Please try the suggestions earlier in the thread.  I'm not sure whether I mentioned it before, but if not, please also try disabling Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access, that is if it's enabled currently.

@dawname  Are you saying that moving the old save to the new Windows account caused the game to stop working in the new account?  That is very strange, and even so, removing the save again should have fixed the problem.  Since this is odd, I think it's worth running a virus scan.  I'm not saying your computer definitely has a virus, only that it's a good idea to check whenever you notice unusual behavior that can't be easily explained.

If you want to try, download Malwarebytes (the free trial is fine) from here:

    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download

Open it, click Scan > Custom Scan > Configure Scan, check all the boxes both for all scan types and for all your drives, and let it do its job.  This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the amount of data and whether the scan finds anything., so you may want to set it to run while you're doing something else.  Please attach its report so I can take a look.

I'll give it a try. Especially since I went to open my new game today and it said the game didn't save properly even though it was fine yesterday.

  • I resolved my issue as well. I placed my saves folder and mods folded into my downloads folder to keep them safe and then I completely uninstalled the sims from my EA app. I was afraid to do this at first because I didn't want to lose my packs but everything works out fine. When the game was reinstalled I just replaced my saves and mods folder and all was good.
