Re: [STEPS UPDATED] Newly-purchased DLC not appearing

This was also affecting me with the Horse Ranch pack.  However after performing a complete repair on my game it thus showed as being owned and could be downloaded.  So anyone having issues with the purchased content not showing as owned do this. Go to your Library tab on the left hand side of the EA app.  Choose your Sims 4 game. Then select the three dots in the square, choose repair.  That's what fixed it for me.

    i did that and it didn't work. Same pack as you. 

    Copy pasting what i said in an other report in case this thread have more trackion: 

    Purchased a key today and proceeded to reedeem the code. The code was accepted, but after clicking on confirm, nothing happenned. When trying to reedeem again, it say already reedeemed, so it did work and recorded somewhere in EA's system. BUT, It does not show up in the manage add-on section. In the store it say I don't own it. Yet in the game it say I already own it, but it is not installed. 

    I tryed to do the following: 

    - Restart the EA app

    - Clear the EA app Cache

    - Restart my computer

    - Repair the game

    - Clear the game's cache

    - Reset the game's file (change the old The sims 4 folder's name to ''The sims 4_BACKUP'' and let the game create a new directory)

    But after all this, it still say that I own the pack in the game, but nothing is visible in the EA app and I can't download the content. 


    Which pack(s) won't install :
     The sims 4 Horse ranch expension pack
    Where you bought the pack: Instant gaming (3rd party seller) 
    Whether you launch the game from Steam: I launch the game from the EA app

    The date when this issue first started: Today right after purshasing it and reedeeming the code (November 25th 2023)

    Your current EA app version: 13.69.0.5582 (76248-9f385d9852)

    Your EA error reporter ID: ad0d2015-c278-41dd-b4bc-1cd35980750a (already opened one with the same issue but could not find the id again, so i made a new one)

    All right so I found a quick work around in an other thread. sharing here in the hope it help your guys too! It worked for me.

    This worked for me! I've been working to find a solution for this for about 3 days now, here are the steps I took:
    In the EA app got to the settings > My account > press the 'Manage' button (takes you to the EA customer portal)
    Scroll down to regional settings > Edit (I switched from US to Australia) 
    Go back to the EA App > Help > App Recovery to clear the cache. 
    All my purchased packs were available to download as soon as the app loaded back up. 

  • I haven't been able to download the packs that I bought, no matter what I tried, as the EA app never registered that I bought the packs. I tried this suggestion, and it worked! Thank you for the tip, @minimouette

    This didn't work for me either so I put an error report in. Hopefully someone from EA came come figure this out.

  • Tried the region trick everyones talking about and nothing.
    Finally got a response from an agent after 24 hours... asking for my email address and user... At this rate I'm just lost for words. This company is just a shambles.

    Also over 24 hours since I bought growing together and still nothing in my EA app despite the order being "completed" in order history. This is beyond a joke.

    Is anyone else even unable to put in a help ticket?  This is insane.  I think I have finally had enough with this company.  We should all just ask for refunds at this point.

    @ehadleygardner Same here. EA has always been this way; it's just getting even worse. Over 24 hours and nothing. I bought 3 packs, I'm usually far too frugal to spend money on games. Have spent several hours on this. EA hasn't even contacted me outside of automatic security codes and purchase confirmation. This honestly has to be some sort of illegal, especially since it's been months with nothing resolved.
  • @breezybabyyxx They should give us more than a refund for all the trouble hundred if not thousands of users are facing. Additionally, if the refund does not include tax, we should sue or something. If this isn't illegal, I'm going to scream into my pillow for two hours straight. I'd stab something instead, but that isn't reasonable. I wish you luck with getting the packs you spent hard-earned money on, or at least more luck than I've had in the past 25 odd hours.

    Ok so after nothing worked, not changing my location, not clearing the cache, not even reinstalling the EA App (repairing isn't even shown as an option for me) I have now complained for the 5th time since this has been going on since friday!

    I'm sick of this but I can't even get my money refunded cause ea doesn't care and they'd ban me if I contacted my bank about this.

    Good way of showing your true face again, ea... I've had some issues for years, the ea app is origin but worse.

    I hope they'll do SOMETHING, even a smple reply would be nice, god I'd be glad if i got a simple "we don't care, not our problem lmao" as a reply, something please (btw I attached my email and ea account name so it's not anonymous).

    @EmiliaRies EXACTLY just acknowledged the stupid issue. They’ve been radio silence stealing people money. This game is supposed to relax me and instead I’ve spent my weekend stressed about where my money went.
  • Got yet another meail today. Did it help escalate or resolve the issue, or provide some next steps? Nope. Just that it is an issue and its being investigated. No apology, no offer to refund. Can't even say sorry that your store doesn't work. Scratch that, the 2nd part of your store doesn't work, the part that takes peoples money and bans them for disputing charges with the bank sure does work

  • Bout a minute after my latest angry post my games turned up. I wish luck to all, I did nothing it just turned up. 

  • @n3llypond Yes! I'm so sick of their excuses... wait... excuses? They don't even have excuses! Nothing! Them constantly allowing half finished games/dlc to be released at enormous prices only to not grant a refund because someone has... already played the game? And realized they didn't get their money's worth? Make it make sense.
  • @YunaLazer I wish they showed up for me too ugh I'm trying to be active on this thread so they may see me and give me the packs so I stop complaining lmao but nope
