I've looked at Origin for more information but it's not being very helpful. I think I'll just wait a little while before trying again. The game releases in like 2 months so I should be patient.

On your screenshot there is an available on date, and on Origin an release date.
ive pre order the sims 4 cats and dog pack months ago and once it was realised ive tryied to download it but comes up saying dowload failing and ive tried everything ive unistailed orgins and the sims 4 game and it still not working what do i do to get the sims 4 cats and dog pack to download for my sims 4
As it says release date is November 10 (not Oktober) it is no wonder that you can't download it now.

It's November 9th... on my origin it says that Cats and Dogs will be released on Nov 9, yet I still can't download it. Doesn't say when it will be available for downloads :/
I'm having the exact same problem why give us todaysdate for release and not allow us to download it
It's coming tomorrow but it may depend on your timezone so it may be the 9th at 11 pm

Ok so it has clearly been released now i waited all night for the release date with my girlfriend who has her computer set up right next to mine, She was able to download it with no problems. But i seem to be having the same problem the rest of you guys were. What do?
If you go to the store looking for it, it will say 11 pm tonight someone previously posted a pic of it so unfortunately, it looks like we have to wait until 11pmtonight
I live in Australia and it has already been released here. it's currently 12:27 here.

In Origin click Browse Games. Click The Sims 4 Dogs and Cats. There you can see date and time for availability for you.
Well, they can not accommodate every ones schedule.
To have it start around midnight means that the servers wont be overwhelmed with downloads. If they opened for everyone say at 4:00 PM the servers would be swamped immediately.
My point exactly! If everyone in the world was downloading it at the same time people would be complaining about how slow it is. Just wait until you specified release time according to your time zone sheesh. We will all be playing by tomorrow anyway
I just called them to find out why they have it this way and it is because people are still buying the game! WTF well I pre-ordered it so why should I have to wait makes no sence
