Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, it will open the task manager. Go to processes and see if you have any sims 4 process running, and finish it. Then, try to enter again.

    I dont have any sims 4 processes running and its still greyed out and not working.....I played fine yesterday afternoon, then went to get on last night and it hasn't worked since.....restarted my PC about 6 times, tried everything...next is an uninstall and reinstall....any toher ideas?
