Re: TS4_x64.exe error

@abigailannrobert  TS4_x64.exe runs Sims 4, and it's within the game's installed files.  Unless you changed the default install location in Origin, the full file path will be:

Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

One cause for this error is an antivirus program blocking the .exe, so please set exceptions in your antivirus for TS4_x64.exe and Origin.exe.  If that doesn't help, let me know what program you use—some have additional features that can block the game as well.

You can also try turning down your UAC setting to the minimum, but this isn't a good long-term solution, since you do want to be notified when other programs try to make changes.  Still, it's worth testing to see whether the UAC setting is in fact the problem.  Please see this guide for more information on what each setting means for your computer:

I had the same issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled my game as well as Origin, and I keep getting the same message. Changing the UAC didn't help launch the game, I just didn't get the popup message. I've got Norton antivirus, and I've set it to allow the Sims 4 and Origin. The only thing I can identify as strange is that the desktop icon as well as the exe file icon both have the administrator icon on top of them? I've tried running them as the administrator, but it hasn't made a difference. I've also cleared out the Origin file cache and rebooted my computer, but nothing has helped so far. Origin hadn't been working before I cleared the cache, but works fine now and that is how I was able to reinstall my game, so it's a problem with the game, I just can't figure out what.

Never-mind, I feel dumb... After hours of searching for the problem, I unplugged my external hard-drive where the game is installed, plugged it back in, and the game ran with no issue. I still get the notification asking me if I want to let TS4_x64.exe make changes to the hard drive, but when I click yes it starts up the game. I know this doesn't help in the other case, but wanted to say my problem is resolved now.
