@Katana248 Is your graphics card now recognized? In Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, open the file labeled config.log, scroll down about 30 lines, and check the found and supported values next to your card's name. If you see [Found: 1, Supported: 1], your card is now properly recognized. If it's not recognized, or you're not sure what you're looking at, copy that line and the next three into a post here.
The lag can have a number of reasons, including rating your card as ultra when it's not capable of handling ultra graphics settings. But it could also be unrelated. Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post, to cover as many bases as possible.

Here are the lines. It still says that it's unsupported. I did uninstall and then reinstall my games as well. The DxDiag that I ran is attached as well.

This is what I put into the GraphicsCard.sgr
vendor "Nvidia" 0x10DE
card 0x1c91 "GeForce GTX 1050" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh - puzzlezaddict6 years agoHero+
@Katana248 Did you add the Nvidia part too, or just add the line for the 1050? If there are two categories for Nvidia cards, the game might only read one, and in this case, the one that doesn't contain your card's ID.
In any case, repair the game in Origin, which will revert graphicscards.sgr to its original form. Then open the file, crtl-F to search for 1c81, which will bring you here:
card 0x1c62 "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh
card 0x1c81 "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHigh
card 0x1c82 "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti" $cardLevelUber $resolutionHighChange the bolded 1c81 to 1c91, save, quit, and test.

I added the Nvidia part as well. I repaired the game and changed the bolded part to 1c91. When I went in game the unrecognized video card notification was gone but it was still quite laggy.
