Re: Whats the best laptop for sims4 and work?

Hi you left such a detailed response i hope you don’t mind if I ask you some questions as well.

I had a mac book pro it crashed in the middle of doing and important project for work so i rushed and ordered a new one without thinking too much about it. I wanna get back into playing sims heavy and I thought ordering a pretty good mac book would be my one stop shop to solve both issues i had which were needing a new laptop for work and wanting to seamlessly play the sims.

i ordered a 13” pro with 2.8ghz i7 processor turbo boost up to 4.7ghz 16gb memory and 1 tb ssd storage.

whatever all that means ...

so i get the laptop i love it obviously, i finish my work project and then download the sims and play for the first time in years . It was my first time playing on a laptop ever ... didn’t even occur to me that there was a such thing as a “gaming laptop”

the sims runs great. no lagging it’s fast and it’s on high setting.. great graphic however it over heats and obviously does very quickly . now i’m worried about the life of the laptop . is sims 4 gonna ruin the longevity of my brand mac book pro and it battery ? the mac book configurations i ordered were already kind of over kill. i don’t do much of anything on my laptop except excel and tableau. I don’t have or want any pictures on it , no music. honestly just a few excel files .

i configured the laptop with non standard processor, memory and storage knowing i wanted to get back into the sims.

fast forward i now see that probably wasn’t the best decision . i don’t even think i want to play sims 4 on it anymore ... every time i play it takes the fun away knowing my expensive * laptop could be potentially decaying every time i play the game !!!!!

OK A LOt HAS BEEN SAID , HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS:

am i being paranoid and crazy for now fearing playing the game on my mac book or am i right ....? every time i play the game for hours with my laptop plugged into the wall charging with cc downloads and the fan making noise as soon as i turn on the game : are those signs that i should stop playing on this mac book if i want it too last ? I’m worried because i cost me over $2000

I feel so guilty that i think i may buy YET ANOTHER new laptop . a gaming one, dedicated to sims 4 and only sims 4. literally nothing else . sims 4, a couple expansion packs 2 or 3 and cc downloads . which one should it be ? how much do i have to spend on a laptop only for sims 4 to run on medium or high graphics , smooth game play no lagging ....don’t care too much about battery because it’ll just be plugged in throughout, right ?

PLEASEDE HELP ME! I would appreciate it so much if you could send over som recommendations , or some links to laptops just for the game ... or let me know if i’m over reacting and if it should be safe to play on my laptop. Even if it is safe , i think just too feel more comfortable i’d rather not play on the mac but let me know what you think. i’m in the US. Appreciate you taking the time to read . Please stay safe and wash your hands lol
