Re: White Screen Troubles

@FreeToBeMae  I actually wanted the .txt file, as you provided, not just a screenshot of the initial output.  Anyway, please try updating the driver for your graphics chip.  The driver is from January 2020, and the Sims 4-related errors in your dxdiag could easily be related to an outdated graphics driver.  You can find the newest driver provided by Intel here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/80815/intel-core-i54590-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-70-ghz/downloads.html

You'll want the one that includes support for Windows 10 and is dated February 5, not the slightly newer driver for Windows 7 and 8.1 only.  Run the installer as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

Hi, I'm sorry it took so long to reply. I ended getting an error message when I tried to install the new driver. I went to the website to see why I was getting an error message. Here are the findings. I've decided against doing a clean reinstall. I'm looking to see what the computer manufactuer's (HP) drivers are available, but from what i remember HP doesn't have or offer any new drivers. I usually check every 6 months just to make sure and the last time there was nothing, but i'll double check. But I'm guessing that I'm going to live with this problem forever. 😕

You are officially my hero! It's been working ever since I downloaded the update. I wanted to give it some time to make sure and ran some tests to make sure it's working, including known causes like opening OBS as administrator, keeping my game open for a long time and trying to play it. And it's working like a charm so far. Thank you so much! Problem solved. Although can I ask why updating my drivers helps my game?

@FreeToBeMae  I don't know exactly why the updated driver helped, only the general principle.  Both Windows and games expect certain behavior from a graphics driver, and both Windows and Sims 4 are updated frequently.  It's likely that the game expects the driver (or some driver-related software) to provide a certain resource in a certain way, which is different than what was expected of the driver you had installed when it was released.  Beyond that, you'd need to ask a software engineer in a related field.

The errors in your dxdiag were pretty definitive though.
