G9bewyd No, the fact that your computer was made by HP shouldn't have anything to do with this. It's still running Windows, and any HP software that might interfere should be disabled in the clean boot, or manually in the Task Manager as described.
What happens when you try to open the cheats console? Please describe it, and specifically whether the same thing happens when you play in windowed mode.
