Realm Of Magic Portal Sim refuses to go through

I just downloaded Realm Of Magic and transferred my sims there, and all of them refuse to go through the portal.  I'll click on the portal, choose travel to magic realm, then the icon of where it tells your sims to do things just gets a red slash through it and disappears.

I thought it was because I wasn't using a magic sim, so I went ahead a created a new sim that was magic, but the same thing happened.  I uninstalled then reinstalled the game, but it's doing the same thing.

How can I fix this issue?
