Recovering Save File

Hi, first post so I'm sorry for the formatting. So I had to permadelete my files for the sims about a week ago and I wasn't able to back them up anywhere beforehand. Thankfully, I just found a way to get the files back, so I've recovered literally everything that would've or could've been deleted. I know obviously all the stuff I'd need to put the save back together is there, but it's not something I've ever done before.

If I'm just looking to frankenstein the save back together, is there any way I could? I don't want my mods or anything else, I just want my sims and their house back. I backed up all the stuff this time lol, so I won't lose it again. If I want the save back, do I need to reconstruct every folder or what? I'm really not sure what to do. It's important that I mention that there have been other saves on my current laptop that were deleted before this. Is it a lost cause if I want to find a specific save? I don't mind recovering ones I've deleted before. I know this is a very specific question, but I'm really hoping to get the save I'd made back, since it was the only one I don't have another copy of somewhere.

  • @mayasdream  The save data is only stored in the save itself, not anywhere else on your computer.  If you have a save of any kind available, dump it in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves and see whether the game will load it.  Please keep in mind that saves rescued with a data recovery tool usually don't work, as they're missing enough data that the game can't read them properly.  I'm not sure from your description whether this applies to you, but if it does, you may be out of luck.

If you have backup versions of any given save, here's how to make them usable as well, at least in theory:
