Refund Sims 4 Cats & Dogs?

    @SchreckAM  As it happens, your laptop is under the minimum requirements for even the Sim 4 base game.  Specifically, your integrated graphics chip is slower and has less video memory than the minimum.  You can see the reqs here:

    Many people in your position find they can play the base game perfectly fine on low settings anyway; it's only when they add a demanding pack that they run into trouble.  Cats & Dogs is pretty demanding, enough that I would suggest anyone with hardware similar to yours stay away from it.  If you want to go to support and get a refund, I think it's a reasonable position to say the game is entirely unplayable with the pack installed.

    If you can't get a refund, or it's more trouble than it's worth to deal with EA customer support, you can disable the pack from launching instead.  Here's how:

    And of course if you do keep the pack, you'll be able to use in on a new computer whenever you decide to get one.

To be honest, I hadn't considered underpowered hardware, which could be a real problem given that I'm playing on a laptop. For what it's worth, the game had run perfectly fine before the installation and had become almost unplayable after, which made me overlook a hardware issue. At this point, I don't really mind whether EA will grant a refund, and I don't think they will given I haven't exactly pinpointed the issue quite yet. I'm leaning towards an underpowered computer, given I'm playing on a laptop and they aren't usually meant for playing video games. If it is a hardware problem, I'm not sure what my next steps would be. I'm not very..."technologically proficient" when it comes to the more advanced aspects of computers, if that makes sense. Nonetheless, here is the dxdiag you requested.
