Save files not loading

Hi, with some research on this issue I’ve realized many other simmers are having ‘similar’ issues. My problem is none of the supposed fixes seem to be working for me. I know all of my mods are updated, none of my CC is broken. I spent HOURS fixing my game after not playing for almost 2 years and everything was going great, I even started playing with a generations legacy I was playing with the last time I was active. I exited my game and the next time I loaded my save WOULD NOT load, no error message came up but it would bring me to a much older save file I haven’t played with in a very long time. I rebooted my game about 6 times, and out of frustration deleted all of my old save files hoping it would help the legacy save boot. It did not. Now every time I load my game it acts as if I have no saves, although the legacy files are clearly in my saves folder. I’ve checked to see if everything moved over to one drive & it has not, I’ve tried renaming the save files to no avail. No matter what the saves will not appear in game. Any help appreciated.

  • Go to Documents/ElectronicArts - inside will be The Sims4 folder

Step 1. Rename The Sims4 folder to "The Sims4 old"
Step 2. Fix the game in Origin
    Origin/ My games library - right-click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Step 3. Turn on the game - a new game folder will be created and you will have two - one old, one new
Step 4. Check if you still have this problem in the newly created game folder. Start a new game with random sims and play by 5 minutes.
    If the problem disappeared
Step 5. Delete in the new game folder following folders:
    "saves" and Tray.
Step 6. Go to "The Sims 4 old" folder and copy - your "saves " folder.
Step. 7. Paste this folder in a newly created game folder.
Step 8. Do the same with Tray folder and TrayDeleteItems file
If you don't have mods and CC skip next step
Step 9. Check if there are newly updated version mods you are using.

Then copy and paste your mods and CC from the old mods folder to the new one. First copy the scripts mods every time checking if the game is working properly. If you have a lot of CC try 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one)
Step. 10. Launch the game and check if this problem disappeared.
The last step - delete The Sims4 old folder.
Your saves and library will be not changed or damaged

I most recently went through and did this, still no avail. Before my saves disappeared from the game after deleting the others, but now the test save file loads in every time I click on my legacy save. I think I might be ready to take the L

  • @coldbloodedanime  Please load the game and see which user folder Sims 4 is reading, as described here:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Then find one of the saves that's not loading, right-click it, select Properties > General, and compare the Location to the file path you saw in-game.  If these don't match, at least until "The Sims 4," your saves aren't in the right location.

If the saves are in the correct folder, please post a screenshot of the contents of the saves folder, as in, I'd like to see the save names themselves.  Please also list the path to the folder Sims 4 is reading, for reference.
