Saving fails after recieving scholarship letters

Into my second generation, I tried to apply for a scholarship. When I received the letters and I tried to drag them from my Household Inventory into the lot to read the letters, they disappeared.

I tried to save my game after, and received an error like: "save failed" with a couple of codes. Trying to read out the Last Exeption (see attached), I see it has to do with the scholarship letters.

Anyone else having issues caused by these letters?

Note: I have all EP and just got the 2 new kits as well. I always clean cache and repair the game before launching it.

  • PieceOfPrincess  The lastexception didn't attach, which is normal—the site flags some text at the beginning of the file and blocks the upload.  If you want to try again, delete the first line of text.  Or you can copy and paste the contents of the file into a reply.

It would also be helpful to see the text of the save failed message, so please either post a screenshot or write out the entire message.

    Hi PieceOfPrincess

to be sure, you no longer have the letters ? They were in your household inventory and not your Sims inventory ?

Does your household have businesses or a lot of collections. If the letter is stuck in your household inventory, you can try cleaning it out by creating a new household and moving all Sims over to the new one but that will make you loose all businesses, everything in the household inventory + all collection items you don't have saved in your inventory. Do try on a backup and not your regular save if you want to see if that works.

Yes they went into my household inventory, and when I tried to read them to see if my sim could receive scholarships, they did not have the option. Hoovering over them also left them blank.

The household did not have any businesses, but maybe 5 collectibles around the house that I marked as heirlooms.

I just moved the next generation I'll be playing out. Hopefully this will help.

Just make sure you move them to a new household. Like do it in the household manager and create a new household in the right hand side and then move the Sims over to that.
