Seasons expansion glitching

After switching to the EA app, my seasons expansion pack has made the game almost unplayable. The weather and season cycles still work, but I can't interact with any Seasons related items like the thermostat, and every time a sim goes outside with an umbrella they end whatever task they are in the middle of. They cannot interact with leaves, snow, rain, anything. On holidays they also can't interact with gnomes. I CAN still use the clothes and hairstyles from the expansion pack and all of the Seasons related dialogue options still work. Help ☹️

  • @jamby3  Please try deleting and reinstalling only the Seasons expansion.  Open the game's program files, located here by default:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4

and delete the EP05 folder.  (Seasons was the fifth expansion released.)  Then open the Delta folder and delete the EP05 folder there too.  (This folder contains patch data, not the actual pack.)  Open the EA App and repair the game (again), then download Seasons again.

While you're deleting folders, the EA App needs to be closed and the EABackgroundService shut down; look for it in the Task Manager and kill it if you find it.

  • @jamby3  Are you playing with mods and custom content?  If so, please test without: move the entire Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.  Let me know which problems, if any, happen in with no mods or cc present.

I don't have any mods or cc downloaded, just the base game with two expansion packs. I have tried clearing the EA app cache and repairing the game several times now, but neither have made a difference. I thought maybe my save files were corrupted somehow, so I made a new file but had the same issue.
