Several issues noticed

Didn't see these mentioned anywhere that's why I am posting here.

1. Changing clothes - Sims don't always change out of their PJ's, bathing suits or gym wear and into their daily clothing before going to school. This should happen automatically at least to any Sim not selected during play in a household. This issue seems to be resolved. 12/30/20

2. Hungry Sims - Sims will be hungry, make a meal but won't take a plate to eat, they will either make another meal or get a quick meal out of the fridge. Also noticed those cooking outside on grills in community areas (not the sims I am playing) will just keep cooking, meal after meal, won't eat from the already made meals. They will walk away eventually, without eating. I am thinking the bug is related to both. Attached an image of a sample of outdoor community cooking of hungry sim not eating after first prepared meal and will continue making meals. Also noticing while playing a household sims will typically eat after making a 2nd meal or taking a quick meal. But not always.

Sometimes a sim will take a leftover or quick meal other times they will prepare a meal at the stove or on the grill and not eat it, but instead will cook again or take a quick meal. when cooking again, this seems to go on a few times until I select them to grab eat what was already made or they move on to something else without eating. 12/30/20

3. Making drinks - Sims will almost constantly be making drinks at their at-home bars. They make a drink and often several more before they stop on their own but won't drink any of them. If I don't give them a task they will often repeatedly go back and make more drinks. Making several drinks at a time and meals eats up money. If this is a new default of how the game works both should be reversed. These issues happen when autonomy is enabled.

I seem to find the higher the sim is in experience in mixology the more often they are mixing drinks. Sometimes taking one after several are made, sometimes not. 12/30/20

4. Doors won't open - Interior doors that have never been locked won't open, leaving Sims stuck in or out of rooms, unless I go into build mode and either reverse how the door opens or replace it all together. This happens to doors that had no issues prior. Problem is still random but appears to happen to the same doors more then once and on different lots, with different types of door styles. Maybe more so with the 2 spaces wide doors over the 1 space wide doors but does happen with both. 12/30/20

5. Walk through - Sims walk through things even each other a lot more now, they do get bumping stuck a little less often though. Seems to be so constant now, compared to 3 months ago. 12/30/20

Number 1 and 4 are issues I noticed prior to the recent update, but the rest is new.

6. Multi using - I am also noticing like the making drinks that using the telescope, microscope, workout equipment, watching TV and using the computer can all become excessive with a sim, I guess it depends on the traits of the sim which item it uses obsessively. Noticing repeat use of coffee and tea makers as well. Is this a glitch or by design?

7. Plan outfit/Design influencer - When selecting either the plan outfit on the dresser or selecting the sim that is a design influencer to create a new trending outfit, when the game leaves CAS mode and returns to the household play mode, it doesn't return you to the sim that was initially engaged. For example, I went to change an outfit with one sim in a household and returning did so with a sim that wasn't even home, so it returned me to the outside of the house, rather then the sim that was engaged. Same thing happens every time I create a new trending outfit through a design/style influencer. This happening. 12/30/20

I play on a Windows PC that exceeds min requirements, the only software I have is the base game and the free Holiday pack. I now also have Island Living, Spa Day and Bowling Night I believe are the titles. 12/30/20

And while I am here I do have 2 requests.

1R. Fridge blockers - Sims will stand in front of the fridge to eat often blocking others from getting food, forcing the hungry Sim to use the BBQ grill to make food. Can this happen a little less often? Having households with 2 or more Sims and waking at the same time intrudes on my work flow to get the sims happy and ready to go before school and work.   Issue seems resolved, thank you tons for this fix! 12/30/20

2R. Aging Sims - Can you allow us access to select (toggle off and on) which households we want to progress in aging and which ones we don't? We currently have the aging option of either played and/or unplayed Sims. It would be great if we had a little more in the ability to choose based on households. I have households I created(played) that I would like to age as I don't play them as much, while ones I created that I am more interested in not aging as I am trying to gain achievements with and so I don't want them on a time limit.   I was able to find out how to do this through another forum. (STEPS: Manage world, then on top right corner click people with pencil icon, then after selecting a household, clicking on the small plumbob on the bottom middle of household window. I am guessing to undo do it, is to just play the household being you can't toggle off and on.)

Any insight to resolving the issues and feedback is welcome. Thank you!

Sorry if any of this is hard to understand, I don't know all the lingo or what every aspect of the game area is called, but I tried to describe it to the best of my ability. If more explanation is needed, please ask.

If anyone sees this and knows where info relating to what I wrote is located, please provide me a link. I keep coming back here and at other resources and still have not been able to find answers to these issues still listed. If I do, I will happily edit this post, so I am not wasted anyone's time and hopefully help someone else looking for the same kind of info.

  • Recent glitches I see are similar - My game just started with #2 - she's ravenous and makes food - I find food all over the house made but untouched, excellent quality, but won't eat unless i stop her from cooking and force her to eat.

Also there's still the dining out issue - guest won't eat, they just sit there drinking but no eating.  As I was playing the same character that cooks but won't eat so I sent her to a restaurant with a friend since social was low... she showed up in the default underwear.  I modified in CAS while at the restaurant and put her in a cocktail dress but when I got out of modify in CAS, she was in her daily wear.  But at least she wasn't in her undies.

I wonder if anyone in development actually plays the game.

  • Thanks for sharing, I was wondering if others where experiencing these issues as well.

It does seem that we have to keep a sim busy in order not to show these compulsive behaviors. These issues certainly make multi-sim households more challenging and expensive.

  • I have a few more reoccurring glitches I have noticed, so I am going to note them here. Hoping someone in tech support see these and works their magic.

    1. Toddlers: A)Don't run anymore, not on their own or when you select "run around" they walk a steady pace only.

    B) Selecting "Play" with a toddler doesn't always engage correctly. The toddler stays standing on the ground and the adult sim makes the movements of play but with no toddler. This use to happen randomly before the Nov update now it is happening all the time.

    2. Genealogy: Not on all sims but parents to children, sometimes the lines are broken. It's just a visual thing.

    3. Flooring: Laying floor tiles on the ground outside the home to create a patio area, if you have items already on the ground, like a patio table with chairs, laying down tiles beneath or near them deletes the table and chairs. This is very annoying and time consuming. I sometimes like to lay the furniture out and then lay the tiles to fit my layout. Laying tiles even several spaces away from objects also deletes placed items.

    And I have a question...

Is there a way to engrave tombstones/urns not associated with a sim who died? It would be great to have the option to purchase the stone or urn to use in my graveyard for some sims I had played for a duration before marking them "unplayed" and I haven't been able to figure out a way to do that yet. If their is one.

Thank you for the improvements and for the fixes. And I am greatly enjoying my exploration of the Island Living pack I recently got. Such a fun addition.
